Employment
SAF provide training to support young refugees aged 16-25 to develop their employability skills and to assist them to access sustainable employment opportunities, combining both 'hard' and 'soft' skills in an integrated programme of delivery, so that beneficiaries develop themselves in the widest sense. Taking this approach will increase their ability to search for employment, prepare applications and CVs and to perform better at interview, thus increasing their chances of securing jobs.
SAF employment activities include training and one-to-one support in:
- Presentation and interview skills
- CV preparation
- Job search
- Time management
- Confidence building
Young people will also be able to access the internet on a drop-in basis to search for jobs and other training opportunities.
SAF will work closely with other local community groups, training providers, local refugee forum and Job Centre Plus to help promote the potential beneficiaries in the area. SAF will also forge strong links with local businesses and organisations so that we are able to filter our beneficiaries towards local job opportunities.
