Crime

SAF being the grass root level organisation and provide front line services for youths of African origin and others to understands the issues, constrains and factors that affect young people to positively engage in the wider society and contribute to the social and economic infrastructure. The organisation takes measures to tackle the issues it identifies and develop strategies to deal with such issues.

SAF understands through research, statistics, feedback and through partnership that, there is a greater need for reducing crime that is been committed by young people. The organisation put forward this proposal to deal with issues that encourage or facilitate young people to commit crime or being part of the crime & prevent them doing it through positive engagement in activities that are chosen by young people.

SAF's aim is to prevent young members committing and involving crime against the other communities. This will be done through education, advice and engaging them in purposeful activities.

SAF provide workshops on the following themes

  • Anti-social behaviour and the law
  • Implication of being involved in a crime
  • Working with the community to tackle crime

Also to provide training and information on

  • Stop and Search
  • How to report a crime
  • Being a responsible youth

Our successful projects will

  • Increased the level of awareness of the social responsibility and the way systems work in the UK
  • Reduced crime committed by youths through engagement in purposeful activities
  • Increase the self-esteem and confidence to go back to education, employment and contribute positively to the society
  • Increased confidence to working with the Police, community wardens, social services and other youth organisations
